Vision Foundation
has initiated an online platform childheartcare.org
for children who were born with defects in their hearts requiring urgent
surgery. Our goal is to achieve more than 100 operations free of cost annually
in India. Every year 80,000 children in India are born with defects in their
hearts requiring surgery. Of these, only 10,000 get any form of surgery which
means that every year 70,000 children do not get the corrective surgery they need,
even though most of the defects are correctable so that if they get the right
type of surgery at the right time, the children can usually lead normal lives.
Imagine the feelings of a mother when she hands her few days
old child for a heart operation. The hardest part of being a cardiac medical
child in India has to tell parents the cost of open heart surgery or device
closure and watch the despair in their eyes. To produce the finances required
can wipe out a family. We have all encountered families where they sold their
last piece of jewelry or their only piece of land to be able to offer cardiac
care for the child they love. What if the family is not financially capable to
afford the surgery? Heart diseases are one of the most expensive diseases and
Indians are genetically 3 times more vulnerable for heart attacks than
Europeans and Americans
The aim of Vision
Foundation is to create an online portal and connect the families of
diseased children directly to the donors by sharing the information related to
the child heart disease, parent contact details, fund requirement for heart
surgery etc. We may also provide the hospital details in our online portal who
are offering high-quality low-cost surgery to the children. By implementing
this process donors can directly pay the donation amount to the hospital and
easily access the information about the utilization of his donation amount.
Finally the needy children can be cured in our country. Nothing to be deducted
for administration costs with 100% of funds will directly transfer to the
hospitals and helps the needy children.
